Furthermore, Dr. Schumacher served some time at a Stroke Unit, caring for victims of stroke which very much added to his knowledge about neurological rehabilitation and the possible positive outcome of either preventing stroke or catching it therapeutically in time to prevent further damage to the brain.
During his many years of training and working in Neurology and Psychiatry, Dr. Schumacher got well acquainted with diagnosing and treating a large number of neurological and psychiatric diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, other kinds of movement disorders, Epilepsy, brain tumors, peripheral nerve damages, Multiple Sclerosis and others on the one hand, as well as disturbances of the mind such as depression, psychoses, neuroses, anxiety syndromes, panic attacks or dementia on the other.

Dr. Kramar applies modifications of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in his consultations and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Biofeedback as additional treatment combining scientific and holistic approaches of modern medicine. HRV Biofeedback is a scientifically proven method which regulates the autonomic nervous system in the human body. Patients learn to voluntarily control their sympathetic (anxiety and stress-fight/flight response to situation) and parasympathetic (relaxation-composure to situation) activation of the autonomic nervous system, to properly deal with everyday situations. Through special breathing and holistic exercises conducted by Dr. Karmar, patients learn to moderate their HR- heart rate, BP-blood pressure and baroreceptors in order to improve their vitality, energy, self-confidence and overall quality of their lives. This holistic approach helps patients develop natural defense mechanisms within the patient's body-mind-interaction that immediately reduces measurable symptoms of stress, anxiety, anger, depression, and fatigue. HRV Biofeedback is the most up-to-date non-medication treatment for most psychological problems.

About Psychodynamic Counselling
There are times when our emotions can feel overwhelming and our ability to cope with everyday situations becomes a challenge. Counselling provides an opportunity to speak openly and confidentially to someone who is professionally trained to help you to recognise the source of your present difficulties. It offers a space in which you can feel supported and understood, in a manner which allows you to explore and manage whatever is happening in your life. Being able to talk freely about things that are troubling you can be a tremendous relief.
Jennifer’s approach is psychodynamic. Psychodynamic Counselling uses the therapeutic relationship to gain insight into unconscious relationship patterns. A painful situation in the present may have its roots in the past, although we may not be aware of the connection. Once these links are uncovered, the individual can begin to experience greater freedom of thought and action, leading to an improved sense of self and positive change.
